The Senior Healthcare Economics, Analytics, and Reporting Consultant supports Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) programs through development and presentation of reporting and analytics using a variety of data sources. Serve as healthcare economics/analytics consultant for national and local level projects.
This role works with a team spanning the US time zones, supporting Optum Local Care Delivery efforts to close gaps in care for our patients and members. We provide analysis and consultation to our local markets, clinicians and leaders to provide optimal, affordable care in conjunction with our analytics partners across Optum.
Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses healthcare data. Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions. Leads initiatives and/or provides data in support of operations, project work, and innovative/exploratory analyses.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 4 + years of healthcare and/or financial analysis experience
- Conversant in data analysis using one or more of the following tools: SSAS, SSRS, MS-SQL Developer, SAS
Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, presentation and reporting- Ability to work with and manage large amounts of data
- Strong facilitation, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Preferred Experience Requirements:
- Graduate degree in related field
- Previous healthcare delivery and/or health plan experience
- Previous healthcare delivery and/or health plan experience
- Experience with Medicare risk adjustment and STARS programs
- Experience with HEDIS
- Experience with healthcare analysis / business intelligence tools: Optum One, Microstrategy, Tableau, etc.
- Project management, LEAN, and/or Six Sigma training
