Order Entry Tech - Full-time / Part-time

This position carried the responsibility to ensure orders are processed in an accurate and efficient manner in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
1. Read and interpret prescription orders. Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy system in accordance with facility requirements with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
2. Enter patient demographics needed to fill prescriptions, including but not limited to patient name, DOB, facility, housing unit, id number and allergies.
3. Record prescription number or reason not filled on each prescription processed.
4. Processes patient releases and/or processes discontinue orders.
5. Forward completed prescription orders and prescription orders that connot be filled to the appropriate area for review. Examples of reasons orders cannot be filled include illegible, missing or unclear information, non-forumlary, duplicate orders, allergies or interactions, early refill, no quantity due.
6. Ensure proper destruction of confidential patient information.
7. Meet performance standards and expectations. Follow all company policies and procedures.
8. Serve as backup for the Pharmacy Assistant to pull prescription errors that are ready to be shipped as needed. Also, serve as a backup for Customer Service Representatives as needed.
9. Assist other areas as needed.
10. Prepare for and assist with quarterly inventory process.
