Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk MUST be able to obtain your CDL within 90 days. Job Description: Responsible for shipping, receiving and storage of all parts and materials sold, transferred and inventoried by the company. Accomplishing these tasks in an accurate, efficient and orderly manner. To keep the work areas clean and free of debris, while also keeping all freight and stock in proper locations with clear labels. Operating all vehicles in an efficient and safe manner. Responsibilities: Emergency parts receiving: Receive all inbound small package and LTL shipments in a timely manner. Verify all part numbers and quantities against pack slip to insure accuracy. In the absence of a pack slip, contact vendor for replacement or use purchase order. Clearly label or repackage when necessary, any parts that arrive without part number attached. Compare all pack slips with purchase orders before receiving to insure accuracy. Check purchase orders for special instructions and customer purchase order documentation attached. If at any time part numbers do not match pack slip, or pack slip does not match purchased order, contact vendor or research through web sites to verify accurate parts substitution. Inspect all small package and LTL deliveries for damage before signing paperwork. If the situation necessitates the parts be received iss spite of damage, clearly note on shipping documents "received with exception" and describe the issue in detail. Clearly label all customer orders waiting in will call area to be picked up or delivered. Use a bag or box to contain multiple parts on will call shelf, with latest document attached. All previous documents to be discarded to lessen confusion. Use a tag for all oversize orders stored on either warehouse floor or WC shelving, marked with the customer name and document number. All documents for oversize orders are to be attached to the clip boards fastened to the appropriate lettered will call shelf. All inbound freight weather small package or LTL will normally have freight billed to the customer. Check notes on purchase order or ask counter personnel if unsure. Identify all LTL shipments as prepaid, collect or 3rd party. Any pack slips for prepaid orders that will have freight billed with parts on the invoice can be discarded. Immediately upon receipt of incoming parts, call customer contact listed on sales document using cell or direct line to leave message about order. Stock Orders Receiving Receive all stock orders in a timely manner. Emergency orders always take precedent over stock orders. When the order arrives, it can't be received promptly, check to make sure it is not a customer order placed as a stock order to save freight. Order Picking, Packing and Shipping Pull all customer and transfer orders as they print. Package all UPS orders as they are pulled, note shipping amount on document. Put all transfer orders with parts in assigned area to be packaged together for shipping at the end of the day. All outbound LTL shipments to be assigned a staging area with clipboard for paperwork so as to assist with shipments being loaded in clerk's absence. Department Forklift and Vehicles Fill out daily DOT paperwork on vehicle being used. Maintain basic departmental equipment cleanliness. Communicate any departmental building or equipment maintenance or repairs needed. Communicate via e-mail to branch upon departure and return. Check with all departments before departure to maximize trip Computer skills needed: Basic Windows, Excel, and Word.
