The Instructional Designer is responsible for
applying an instructional design and development process to produce effective
learning programs in support of our internal operations business segments. This
Designer keeps abreast of various design strategies, with emphasis in Online
Learning, both synchronous and asynchronous.
As an Instructional Designer, you will define innovative learning programs that
are current, engaging and meet program objectives. This highly motivated
Designer will conduct training needs assessment and skills analysis for
business areas supported by our Learning Solutions organization. The designer
will then use this analysis to design and develop training and
performance-support solutions. Design efforts include traditional and Online
Learning strategies. The Designer's goal is to ensure learning transfer occurs
and to successfully address the performance gap.
This Designer will create original synchronous and asynchronous learning
solutions in addition to converting existing instructor-led training programs
in to Online Learning programs. The designer will apply innovative and creative
strategies including but not limited to: web-based tutorials, documented
procedures, audio and video vignettes, and simulations using various technology
tools.
This role will act as project manager over his/her own smaller efforts, or be
part of a design team for larger efforts that may include a dedicated Project
Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Uses a systems approach to curriculum design, re-design and development.
- Define learning objectives.
- Participates in the planning, development, evaluation of learning programs
supporting ongoing learning and professional development of our operations'
learner audiences. - Creates or converts existing instructor-led curriculum into an online
learning format.
Requirements
- 1+ years of
experience in instructional design - Previous
experience in building engaging, effective online learning programs and tools
using current and successful strategies - Previous
experience with skills assessment techniques - Proven
experience with Adobe Captivate, Articulate Suite, Storyline, Engage or
equivalent online learning development tools - Proven
ability to produce quality results using rapid development models and tools - Bachelor's
Degree OR HS Diploma/GED plus 3+ years Instructional Designer experience - Highly
motivated, eager to make a difference in the learning process. - Very creative
and looking for an opportunity to apply this creativity in the form of
interactions, media inclusion and motivation strategies to produce unique and
successful learning programs - Strong time
management, planning skills - Strong
analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision making
abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with
incorporating multiple media elements in to learning programs including audio,
video, animation, simulation, and self-developed graphics - Visio
experience
