Description

Arizona MENTOR is seeking BHT or BHPP staff to work in a co-occurring residential setting with persons with SMI and Substance abuse issues in Peoria.

We are seeking BHPPs and BHTs to assist, support, and teach the skills necessary to enable SMI clients to achieve their activities of daily living in a 24 hour living situation. Behavioral Health Technicians support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support by conducting a minimum of one individual counseling session and one group counseling session per week. Behavioral Health Technicians provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration; and personal care. Behavioral Health Technicians may also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities.

We accept walk-ins and offer same day interviews Monday through Friday from 9am-2pm at our Phoenix office: 2700 N. 3rd St. Suite 4000 Phoenix, AZ 85004.

Qualifications

Initial Training Requirement:

Candidates must attend approximately 2 weeks of mandatory paid training sessions prior to providing care to individuals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • At least six weeks of full-time Behavioral Health experience
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Four years verifiable experience working with individuals suffering from mental illness OR two years experience and related degree preferred.
