Accumulate and distribute accurate credentialing information on physicians, as well as monitoring and updating information consistently.  This position has a heavy focus on special projects, file readiness (i.e., obtaining missing documentation, compiling documents, phone follow up, physician notification of document expiration, etc.).

 

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Maintains internal provider credentialing files including creating new and maintaining old provider files

·         Oversees and maintains provider credentialing database (EZ Cap)

·         Maintains participation status with health plans, including HealthSpring, Humana, FHN, BCBS-IL

·         Notifies HMO/PPO of any physician information changes, additions, and terminations

·         Runs monthly status reports and follows up with any necessary corrective action

·         Supports Provider Relations staff on special projects

·         Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:


·         High School Diploma or GED

·         Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

·         One or more years experience within a credentialing-, medical staff- or hospital-affiliated role

·         Must be familiar with accreditation standards (JCAHO, NCQA, and NPDB, preferred)

·         Demonstrated organizational skills

·         Detail-Oriented

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·         Ability to work in a team environment
