Requirements

GENERAL PURPOSE
To clean and maintain all public areas (i.e. hotel lobby, restrooms) and back of the house areas. Maintain a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. This position must be available 1st or 2nd shift. You will be scheduled in an area that is needed due to occupancy and hotel needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Average percent of time.

PUBLIC AREAS

  • 30% Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, countertops, walls, vents and floors specifically assigned cleaning agents. Dispose of trash
  • 20% Dust all furniture and pictures, clean all windows and glass, and vacuum public areas
  • 20% Vacuum/shampoo carpets
  • 20% Deep clean public areas
  • 10% Complete assigned projects

LAUNDRY AREA

  • 60% Perform all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen).
  • 10% Clean laundry machinery.
  • 10% Assist in laundry inventories.
  • 10% Clean laundry area. Set up house attendant amenities for pick up.
  • 10% Assist with the upkeep of basement hallway and staff elevator.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Attending all mandatory meetings
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to Safety/Security Department
  • Provide general public assistance, instruction and/or guidance for guests and employee safety in the event of an emergency
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by Assistant Executive Housekeeper to include cross training
  • Keep work area neat and organized
  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment
  • Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk in pubic areas for extended periods of time
  • Ability to under and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision

EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
