The Laundry Place is a newly remodeled 24/7 Laundromat providing superior coin laundry service to customers in the area. Our goal is to provide our customers with a  superior washing experience, a super clean store and great customer service. Job Description

The Laundry Place Laundromat is actively interviewing for a laundry attendant (10 to 25 hours per week).

 

We offer a great starting wage and every six months, employees can earn a retention bonus based on their total number of hours worked during the previous six months.

  

Location:

4347 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines IA 
Located in the Haymarket shopping center, near Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and the Nova movie theater.

-Currently hiring for all shifts
M-F
8am to 12pm
4pm to 8pm

Sat & Sun
8am to 2:00pm
2:00pm to 8:00pm

  

Candidates available 7 days per week who can cover morning and afternoon shifts are preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain washers and dryers in a careful manner and report problems to management.

- Cover shifts for employees that are sick
- Clean lint screens daily from dryers

- Clean the Laundromat continuously throughout the day, mop, and sweep and keep office clean and organized. 
- Routinely empty waste baskets throughout the Laundromat
- Routinely cleanup any water spills
- Help customers using the machines and provide good customer service
- Provide refunds to customer and accept coupons
- Balance cash register daily
- Refill soap machine, paper towels, and toilet paper

- Clean, dry, and fold customers drop off laundry in a professional manner.

 -Answer phone calls from customer on questions on washing and drying

Qualifications

-Self-motivated and without the need for supervision

-Positive attitude and strong work ethic

- Previous cleaning or Laundromat experience in a retail setting

- Fast at cleaning and proactive with tasks even during slow times

- Hard worker with the desire to please management and customers

- Good communicator who works well with others

- Reliable transportation enjoys working with people.

- Flexible work schedule

- Must be available for work 7 days per week for both morning and afternoon shifts.-

- Honest and trustworthy
