Job Requirements

Aegion's BI Team is looking for experienced IT professionals with the ability to develop our SAP Business Objects environment. Our BI Team supports the global functions of our business across all divisions of the enterprise. As a member of the BI team, team members will have the opportunity to perform end-to-end development to include requirements gathering and analysis, data modeling, ETL development, design and tuning, Universe design, Report and Dashboard creation as well as migration and administration activities.

Typical responsibilities and skills of this position include:

Ability to communicate with business leaders at all levels of the organization to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Demonstrate a visionary mindset when designing and implementing solutions to ensure a scalable, efficient, and accurate BI solution
Knowledge of SAP Business Objects BI solutions with the ability to:
Develop semantic layer and metadata repository
Design and Develop ETL mappings with Business Objects Data Services
Create BI reporting standards and socialize them throughout the organization while developing strong relationships with key business users
Perform metadata and report catalog migrations
Develop reports and dashboards
Monitor system performance
Identify source system data sources
Create, enhance and tune SQL Server Stored procedures
Ability to lead and execute throughout all phases of a system implementation
Ability and desire to tackle parallel challenges across multiple applications and processes

Qualifications:

Four year college degree, or specialized training or equivalent work experience
Minimum five to seven years of experience in a business intelligence position
Minimum three to five years of experience working with SAP Business Objects to include Business Objects Data Services, Universe Designer, and building Webi reports.
Minimum three to five years of experience working with SQL Server, T-SQL and stored procedures
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving capabilities
Solid understanding of Agile Scrum project management methodologies
Strong understanding of relational data warehouse modeling to include the Kimball model as well as star and snowflake schemas
Experience with Xcelsius or Crystal reporting a plus.
Robust ETL design expertise (error handling, data synchronization / auditing, etc.)
Knowledge of database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures
