JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structures / Sheet Metal Mechanic (SMM)

POSITION SUMMARY: Structural Sheetmetal Mechanics to support our client's Commercial Aircraft Service Center; will be directly supporting their Commercial (i.e. CRJ 700 & CRJ 900 series aircraft) and/or Q400 MOD lines in Macon.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. All candidates are required to have a current Airframe “A” license and/or A&P license
2. 3 or more years of experience specific to heavy structure repair / heavy check maintenance / fabrication experience in a Repair Station and/or Depot environment; open to Military and/or Commercial and/or Corporate aircraft (Rotary Wing and/or Fixed Wing)
3. Must be able to read blue prints and schematics to troubleshoot & repair aircraft deficiencies as well as fabricate sheet metal parts for complex repairs; must be strong with both the Installation and Fabrication of said parts (i.e. close tolerances, close bends, etc.).
4. Must have their own set of tools & ability to proficiently operate basic sheet metal support equipment; which is needed to pass the pre-employment practical test (as well as a written, multiple choice exam). The “practical” portion includes a structures project in which the scoring is heavily influenced by both quality and accuracy.
5. Ability to work different shifts and/or significant OT as workload requires. Though normal shifts are 12 hours and are 3 on/4 off, 4 on/3 off, etc.; we have had work periods requiring (7) 12’s for 2 or 3 weeks at a time.
6. All candidates must be willing to submit to an FAA DOT Drug Test and client-specific 10 Year BG Check prior to starting an assignment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Remove and install aircraft components, landing gear doors, access panels, and fairings on aircraft as they relate to structure repair/modification or obstruction of tasks assigned.
2. Perform component repairs in accordance with Repair Station Certificate as required.
3. Fabricate aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings and specifications as required.
4. Fabricate and install structural modifications on aircraft.
5. Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection.
6. Apply cleaning solvent and proper sealing compound(s) according to maintenance and structural repair manuals, engineering manuals.
7. Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures including but not limited to, Safety Manual Section 1225.
8. Inspect parts including warranty inspection for warranty consideration as required by site.

PAY RATE / PER DIEM INFORMATION: Total hourly compensation will be $32.00 per hour max; pay rates will be commensurate with skill level, relevant work experience and overall technical abilities & qualifications.

PER DIEM: Yes, daily Per Diem will be available for all non-local candidates whom qualify accordingly.
