Project Manager - Construction - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is currently working for a full-service interior general contractor specializing in the hospitality industry. The majority of their projects are hotel renovation projects for several repeat clients throughout the United States. They focus on restaurants, ballrooms, guest rooms, conference centers, etc.

They need to have experience dealing with not only the client and the subcontractors, but the ownership group and their onsite representatives. We need someone who will get started immediately and look to finish this project and commit to it. There will undoubtedly be a good number of hours worked.

Ultimately responsible for successful completion of assigned projects by performing the following duties either directly or indirectly through management of subordinate supervisors:

Responsible for overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and onsite management of 3-10 subcontractors and their accompanying supervisors with a total of anywhere from 10-40 employees. Subcontractors can include the following: paint and vinyl, electrical, plumbing, flooring, HVAC, interior finishes, architectural millwork, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and installation. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner.

Responsible for adhering to specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. Assemble members of organizations (supervisory, client, subcontractors, and other workers, etc.) at start of project and on a regular and consistent basis. Order procurement of materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confer with and direct personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.

Confer with all parties to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods. Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to highest specifications and quality while adhering to construction schedules. Prepare and review daily project reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports. Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.

Need to be able to manage a project and adhere to the tight schedule. They must have interior construction project experience because these jobs move quick. Should also be able to effectively manage a range of trades (from electrical to drywall to painting to flooring to millwork, etc.). Must be able to work extra hours and over the weekend if necessary to get things moving.
