Grade Foreman (Finish Grader) - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is seeking an experience Grade Foreman for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This person will operate self propelled tractor equipped with blade attached across front to level and spread dirt, gravel and stone to grade specifications in constructing and maintenance of earthwork structures, such as highways, street, airports and temporary roads.

Job Description:

Safe operation of equipment
Proper Pre-start and Daily Maintenance (Including Lubrication)
Importance of keeping equipment clean
Tire pressure and Care (Monitor all Engine Gauges)
Basic Operating Skills (Blade Control)
Scraping and Leveling Dirt on Roadway
Shaping and Mixing Materials on Roadway
Shaping and Blading Sub grades
Balancing and Rough Shaping Base Course Materials
Ability to Operate to Fine Grade Specifications
Fine Grading Horizontal Surfaces, Shoulders and Slopes
Understanding Grading Plan Requirements and Setting grading Standards; Dressing of Shoulders and Slopes

Qualifications:

Must possess three (3) to five (5) years in heavy highway construction with knowledge of project construction scope and objectives to include, but not limited to grade, slope, reading and understanding plans
* Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications for the project
* Must possess a strong knowledge of scheduling and planning
* Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Must possess excellent time management skills
* Must possess a clean Florida driver's license
* Must be able to operate power driven grading machine. Experience with GPS and/or Robotic assisted Motor Grader applications a plus. Must be willing to be trained on Company provided equipment.
* Must be able to work on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week
* All work is performed outdoors in Florida
