Engineer III (Skilled Refrigeration) - FT / AM Shift

BASIC PURPOSE:

Maintain the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and consistently keep updated records on file. Respond to all guest's requests in a timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the Guest Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program.

2. Respond or perform duties of a groundskeeper, handle and double check guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.

3. Maintain proper records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and the Second Request Program.

4. Complete work order request forms on a daily and timely basis.

5. Maintain all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.

6. Inspect all public areas daily for burnt light bulbs.

7. Participate in the hotel fire brigade.

8. Maintain department pass-on log book as required.

Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of technical fields, ie., carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
• At least two years experience in commercial refrigeration.
• At least three years progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful.
• Previous supervisory skills preferred.
• Strong electrical knowledge AC/DC, High & Low Voltage, and Control Circuits.
• Strong refrigeration knowledge, commercial refrigeration preferred.
• Central Plant experience and strong knowledge of Chillers, Boilers and Energy Management Systems.
• Laundry equipment preventive maintenance and repair experience.

Physical requirements:

• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.

Marginal:

• Assist in supervising other engineering staff members.
• Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Paint designated areas.
• Repair and finish sheet rock.
• Repair all types of wall coverings.
• Repair or replace hardware on doors.
