Position
To profitably operate the restaurant within the practice and procedures established by Company operations. Having sole charge responsibility for the restaurant.

Essential Responsibilities

  • P & L responsibility to include forecasting of sales, controllable profit, and making adjustments as business conditions indicate
  • Ensures product quality at all times and presents an appearance of cleanliness in the restaurant and the team.
  • Manages the hiring and developing of restaurant personnel.
  • Maintains applicant tracking as per federal requirements.
  • Develops and maintains an acceptable level of sales.
  • Manages restaurant cash control by making bank deposits and maintaining an accurate restaurant change fund.
  • Reports and controls restaurant inventory through established inventory systems.
  • Maintains sufficient stock by ordering, receiving and accounting for all supplies (dry goods, perishables and certain items of equipment).
  • Utilizes a preventive maintenance system, ensuring adequate repair of buildings and equipment as needed.
  • Ensures adequate staffing by scheduling and using manpower controls systems.
  • Maintains and submits daily/weekly/period-ending/special reports as requested.
  • Projects a professional presence in the restaurant community by being active in community and civic projects.
  • Attends special meetings as schedule by the Area Manager.
  • Conducts restaurant meetings at least twice each period for purpose of planning, training, and reviewing operations/management procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining all hourly personnel files in accordance with federal, state and local law.
  • Serves as a role model for customer-first behaviors according to company standards.
  • Builds a team of customer-focused employees through coaching and communication. Promotes positive communication throughout the team.
  • Ensures the execution of the store’s overall Human Resource programs. Ensures proper staffing levels are achieved. Maintains an on-going system for the recruitment, development, recognition and retention of store management and crew. Conducts quality, timely performance feedback and performance appraisals for store management. Oversees and anticipates staffing needs.
  • Responsible for handling any customer complaints/concerns in a timely and professional manner. Responds to customer inquiries on a timely basis.
  • Directs and manages store sales efforts. Manages sales goals versus projection and prior year. Develops and implements appropriate plans to resolve unfavorable trends and enhance sales.
  • Achieves business plan objectives and profitability as described in the store operating plan and established financial goals. Manages profit goals versus projection and prior year. Manages food and labor costs and other controllable expenses. Develops and implements appropriate plans to resolve unfavorable trends and enhance profit.
  • Controls flow of ingredients and utilization of labor to ensure adequate production at the required quality level. Coordinates production schedules to meet customer demands and minimize labor hours. Understands and implements procedures to maximize efficiencies and control variances in daily production of product and overall store performance.
  • Implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve product quality. Understands and implements store quality control procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrates safety consciousness and promotes store safety, e.g. shoes, floor cones, OSHA regulations, etc.
  • Oversees proper upkeep of store facility and equipment; directs and schedules all maintenance, improvements and repairs of the building and equipment. Maintains a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness, e.g. cleaning schedules, training, etc.
  • Manages company resources responsibly including inventory control. Completes and manages income and expense budgets, including accounts receivable, profit and loss, etc.
  • Implements efficiently and effectively directives from corporate and divisional management.
  • Completes required corporate reporting documentation (financial and operational).
  • Weekly Paperwork: Payroll, Inventory, Cost of Sales, Petty Cash, Training/Vacation, Payroll Forms, Coupon Reconciliation
    • Daily Paperwork: Safe Count, Deposit Balance Form, Daily Operations Report, Deposit Slips, Balance Discounts, Supervisor Walk Through Checklists
    • End Of Day Paperwork: Balance Cashier Totals to Match Micros, Ring in Discounts
    • Employee Paperwork: All HR Paperwork, New Hire Paperwork, Termination Paperwork, Worker's Compensation Claims, Employee Discipline, OJT Program
    • Other Paperwork: Labor Projections, Sales Projections, Ordering Materials, Hourly Staff Schedules, Supervisor Schedules

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the store. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Able to successfully pass background investigation, pre-employment personality screening and drug testing.

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five (3-5) years of sales experience, and three to five (3-5) years of management experience. Experience in a production environment preferred.
