Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer makes order out of chaos, compiling data from all available sources, then distills it into just what senior leaders require for decision-support.

Job Purpose

The Business Intelligence Developer will leverage our enterprise SQL Server platform to meet current and future needs of our business. This position will work with various business units and technical teams to design, develop, and implement SSAS cubes, SSRS reports, ETL processes, data warehouse solutions, and dashboard visualization technology to deliver end user reports and dashboards.

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement SQL Server 2008 R2 (or newer) Analysis Services cubes.

Create, develop, test relational and dimensional data warehouse and marts using SQL Server 2008 R2 (or newer).

Create, develop, test ETL framework and solutions utilizing SQL Server 2008 R2 (or newer) Integration Services.

Work with business users and Analysts to design and develop data requirements.

Implement repeatable testing processes to ensure data quality and performance.

Job Requirements

BS in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent job-related experience required.

2 + years of relevant experience as a BI Developer.

Subject matter familiarity with corporate business units, e.g., Finance, Payroll, Sales, HR.

Experience with enterprise source systems, e.g., accounting, payroll, employee, workforce management, order

management (preferred).

Thorough understanding of systems and network considerations to design and implement an effective BI infrastructure. Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills.

Outstanding interpersonal skills.

E/R modeling experience using tools such as ERWin, PowerDesigner, ERStudio.

Strong skills and experience working with SQL Server 2008 (or newer).

C# skills, especially with SQL CLR and SSIS custom components, preferred.

SQL Server 2008 (or newer).

Experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data warehouses and marts.

Experience with dashboard visualization tools (Dundas preferred).

Experience with near real time ETL, using features such as CDC, Service Broker, ESB solutions, preferred.

Experience and ability to work within software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

ETL design and development experience using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Multidimensional database design and development experience using tools such as SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

Working knowledge of MDX.

24/7 for any failures of the CRM system.

Need to respond to “Pager Duty” notices and provide required support to bring systems on line.
