About this job

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform reconciliations of premium payments and membership reports to identify discrepancies and follow through to ensure outstanding balances are collected and/ or resolved
  • Enter membership, group, billing and rate transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate with all internal and external customers that interact or that are impacted by decisions affecting revenue, membership and eligibility
  • Utilize multiple reports to research, resolve, and perform regular maintenance to ensure the accuracy of enrollment, eligibility, billing transactions and commissions
  • Review and validate premium billing statements for groups and individuals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Responsible for medical and ancillary product premium billing
  • Interact with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies
  • Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function
  • Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications
  • Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed
  • Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables
  • May also include quality assurance and audit of billing activities

Requirements

Requirements:
  • High school diploma/ GED is required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems required; 2+ years is preferred
  • Must be able to type 35+ WPM preferred
  • 6000+ KPH alpha numeric typing is preferred
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows PC applications required
  • Any combination of billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, broker commissions, accounting and cash receipts experience is preferred
