As part of the clinical group within Humedica you will be working as a data detective and will be responsible for owning a client implementation from the data perspective.  As part of the clinical group within Humedica you will be responsible for becoming an expert in the clinical data we obtain from our customers, identifying all data elements represented in the application, and standardizing all data elements of interest. This process results in the analysts providing specifications for engineers to create a standardized data warehouse containing all relevant data from all of our clients.

Working as a Clinical Data Analyst, you will learn extensive data analysis techniques and will expand your knowledge of SQL.  You will gain skills that will make you invaluable in the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understanding the clients data in its own native format in client-side data structures


• Writing specifications for engineers regarding how to process the client data


• Assisting in the implementation of the client until their go-live


• Continuing to trouble shoot or work on updates thereafter

Specific implementation tasks include:

• Determining how the data is structured. Each set of data is unique in how the data is stored.  It is the analysts' job to understand it for their clients' data 


• Learning the client data (EMR, claims, etc.) to locate data elements of interest to our application. Sometimes this is as simple as identifying what table and field the data element is stored in. Complex cases involve reconciliation of data in multiple locations, and clever ways of imputing information from sub-par data


• Mapping of client terminologies to Humedica standard concepts


• Working closely with terminology, lab, and pharmacy specialists in domains such as lab and medication data


• Working closely with engineering and operations teams as a client is implemented, to answer questions and resolve data issues that arise

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience working with data, analyzing data and understanding data


• 1+ years of experience working with SQL, whether used in your job or learned on your own


• Working knowledge of health information systems


• Working knowledge of relational database systems


• Competence with PCs and Windows Office applications


• Bachelor's degree, or work equivalent, in health sciences, health information systems, computer science, mathematics or related field

Additional Desirable Experience and Skills:

• Clinical or medical data analysis or management experience highly preferred


• Understanding of clinical processes and vocabulary


• Education that included courses in economics, mathematics, or computer science


• Intermediate skills using Microsoft Excel
