NC Mentor is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to a department an/or manager, including answering telephones, handling correspondence and scheduling meetings, as well as project based work. This position may also greet visitors and route telephone calls to appropriate staff and/or provide data entry support.

Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
  1. Knowledge of current office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
  2. Knowledge of professional business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports.
  3. Knowledge of standard bookkeeping concepts, practices, and procedures.
  4. Skill to demonstrate mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel and other software packages.
  5. Skill to type at least 50 words per minute.
  6. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  7. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree with courses in accounting, office administration or business administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in an equivalent position.
  • High level of demonstrated computer skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Drivers license, reliable transportation and ability to travel to Whiteville a few days a month.
