Transportation Coordinator - Full-time

Provide a high level of customer service to ensure the flow of freight through the Distribution Center.  Check all documentation for accuracy, identify discrepancies and initiate communication with the appropriate business partners to seek resolution.  Organize and maintain a filing system which would be used for future references. 

Position Duties: 

• Retrieve and submit the weekly in voice to the freight payment provider for auditing purposes.
• Create and submit for payment a weekly spreadsheet that identifies freight dollars by cost center.
• Sort, verify and code the carrier freight bills.
• Copy and send a weekly package containing original freight bills to the freight payment provider.
• Determine the liability and process the over/short and damage merchandise.
• Verify all Letter of Credit and Wire applications.  Identify and resolve all discrepancies.
• Work closely with the Broker on the Customs clearance process.
• Print all bank discrepancies and prepare information required for the release of payment.
• Contact inland carrier for estimated time of arrival.
• Create and maintain Import spreadsheet.  Ensure Customs compliance.
• Effectively maintain and follow up with the department tools such as voice mail, e-mail and faxes.
• When appropriate, take on additional responsibilities. 

Position Requirements: 

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.

• Analytical and detail oriented.
• Highly organized individual.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, STS and WMS preferred
• High school diploma / GED 

Essential Functions: 

• Communicate in writing and verbally (in person and via telephone) all matters related to analyzing and resolving problems related to the Transportation Department.
• Participate in various problem-solving activities requiring skills such as reading and math.
• Operate various office equipment and hand tools requiring manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination (perform various keyboard functions, etc.).

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM  / Flexible availability
