California MENTOR is seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor to oversee all aspects of Accounts Receivable, revenue recognition, billing and cash application reporting and reconciliations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures revenue and cash activities are recorded timely and accurately.
  • Manages account receivable activities involving tracing sources of errors, partnering with AR SSC and Operations to correct errors.
  • Investigates credit balances and fix with funding agencies or communicate errors to the AR SSC for correction. Oversee collections for accounts due, maintenance of the accounts receivable ledgers and sales adjustments.
  • Recruits, hires, trains and supervises Accounts Receivable Staff.
  • Ensures adherence to all corporate policies and procedures. Evaluates local state processes and develops new procedures as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and statutes.
  • Completes monthly review of AR balance sheet reconciliations and bad debt reserve. Prepares sales allowance and provides accurate forecasting for the remainder of the year.
  • Analyzes, interprets and communicates accounts receivable data and issues to Management.Manages process improvement and issue resolution projects.
  • Facilitates communication with field offices. Assists in evaluation of field billing/AR performance. Provides support to field billing/AR users.
  • Participates in the design and set up of new programs within Avatar.
  • Maintains appropriate relationships with payer agencies to facilitate timely billing and collections.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance with all assigned areas and other audit requirements.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
  • Directs and supervises assigned staff including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Makes recommendations on decisions related to employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in Accounts Receivable Management including two years supervisory experience.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines.
  • Project leadership skills.
  • Experience with Avatar and Oracle preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office to include Excellent Excel Skills, Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and flexibility.
