Maintenance Technician

Direct Hire Opportunity -Manufacturer of Water Filtration Systems

CoWorx Staffing Services has partnered with one of the largest manufacturers of water filtration systems located in Hanover Park, IL. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a full time opportunity. Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and events.
  • Must be able to conduct root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Attend Gemba Walks and participate on Kaizen circles
  • Conduct preventative maintenance per plan.
  • Conduct corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance activities per Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.


  • Must have knowledge of safe work practices including:
    • Hazardous materials awareness with OSHA’s Right-to-Know standard.
    • Fork truck certified.
    • Man lift certified.
    • PPE requirements.
    • Fire safety.
    • Lockout-Tagout procedure.
    • Hot work procedure.
  • Must be able to read mechanical blueprints.
  • General ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
  • Intermediate ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.
  • Intermediate ability to identify root causes and make recommendations for improved operation.
  • Intermediate ability to operate the following maintenance equipment:
    • Digital or analog volt/amp/ohm meter.
    • Hand tools.
    • Power tools.
    • Arc welder.
    • Machine tools (lathe, mill, and drill press).
  • Full computer skills to use Smart Maintenance Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Successfully attended, passed or demonstrated the equivalent knowledge or skill level of at least three of the following courses/certifications/licenses:
    • DC/AC Electricity course.
    • Basic Welding Processes course.
    • HVAC course or certification.
    • Machine Processes course or machinist apprenticeship.
    • Introduction to PLC course.
    • Hydraulics/Pneumatics course.
    • Electrician’s license.
    • Motors and Controls.
    • AutoCAD course.
    • Other pre-approved, job-related activity.
  • Must be able to lift pieces that frequently weigh approximately 20-40 lbs. and infrequently 55-65 lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently and also with team.
  • Must be able to demonstrate safe work practices and understanding of workplace safety requirements.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by work area, such as safety glasses,


ear plugs, hardhats, gloves and steel toe shoes.

  • Must be able to identify unsafe conditions and report them to department team leader, supervisor, manager or EHS Coordinator.
  • Deal with complexity in a fast pace manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the multi-skilled repair of production equipment.
  • Must be able to utilize electrical testing devices; such as digital multi-meter or oscilloscope.
  • Strong English communication skills (read, write and speak).
  • Must be able to design, manufacture and install jigs and fixtures to support the operation.
  • Support production with technical expertise to ensure operation achieves business objectives
  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret data to drive corrective actions
  • Must maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards


Physical & Mental Demands:

Must be able towork extended hours and weekends to meetbusiness demands..Must be able to adapt to stressful situations and complete projects under tightdeadlines. Must be able to lift frequently 20-40 lbs. and infrequently 55-65 lbs.Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, bend, lift and reachwith hands and arms. Work environment is a plant with machine noise and lifttruck traffic. Temperatures in plantvary by season.
