Project Manager/Sr. Environmental Permitting Specialist:

Currently seeking a Project Manager/Sr. Environmental Permitting Specialist in the Impact Assessment and Capital Permitting/Natural Resources Practice.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a BS/M.S. in an environmental sciences (wetlands science concentration) or ecological sciences with 10-15+ years of environmental consulting experience working with a diverse set of client types including natural gas transmission, electric transmission, state agencies, federal agencies and diverse industrial and commercial client types.

Candidates must be self-motivated, have excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills, public speaking/oral testimony and have demonstrated project / staff management experience. This position is a multidisciplinary position balancing project management and wetlands technical and regulatory expertise and a role with perspective clients, business development, and potential line management along with technical execution prowess. Strong preference for applied experience permitting energy transmission infrastructure, linear projects and FERC expertise. A solid working knowledge of the PA & NY Wetlands Protection Act Regulations and the federal 404 and state 401 WQC and Ch. 91 Programs is required.

Prior experience with wetlands restoration design/feasibility and construction preferred. The ability to execute projects of all sizes and build project teams collaboratively around multidisciplinary projects required. Some regional travel required. The work is a balance of office and field work with office work focused on environmental permit application report preparation and leadership, additional technical report preparation and direction of operations staff on project assignments. Familiarity with MEPA and NEPA is also helpful. This position offers the selected individual the ability to work with a large, talented multidisciplinary team working on a diverse set of project types and clients.
