On behalf of The American Institutes for Research (AIR), Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking Part Time School Liaisons for a school-based research study. Candidates can live throughout the greater Chicago area. This position is part time, and is expected to last through December 2014. Qualified candidates must be able to commit to the full length of the study.

Responsibilities:

Headway is seeking part-time (15 – 20 hours/week) candidates to act as School Liaison site visitors across 30 Chicago Public Schools. School Liaisons will aid in data collection for a study to test the effect of health education on students' behaviors, attitudes, knowledge, skills and intentions. The health topics covered include the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; and sexual behavior.
  • Work with school principals and school staff to coordinate study activities.
  • Oversee and conduct study activities, including parental consent distribution and collection, student survey administration, staff survey administration, student and staff focus groups.
  • Adhere to all project deadlines
  • Strictly adhere to AIR's and the school district's procedures to protect the privacy of children and families
  • Maintain contact with AIR's data collection coordinator and other project team members in a timely and professional manner
  • Pass School District required background check and fingerprinting processes


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education, social sciences or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's degree.
  • Experience working directly with schools and school staff to coordinate and conduct research activities.
  • Must be able to commute to all assigned Chicago public schools.


Training: Data Collectors will receive paid training in person, tentatively scheduled for August 2014. Attendance at training is mandatory. Trainees must successfully complete training to continue employment on the project.
