Summary: In every customer interaction, a correspondent has an ultimate goal of delivering exceptional levels of customer service. BNY Mellon is seeking a Customer Service Representativ to respond to written and verbal customer service inquiries, requests received with incomplete information or documentation and complaints.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Respond to customer inquiries, items received not in good order, and complaints received via e-mail, incoming mail, fax and any other venue.
* Excellent written skills and ability to correspond in writing in a professional and diplomatic manner.
* Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, association guidelines and consumer regulations.
* Protects the privacy of the customer in maintaining customer confidentiality.
* Assist with developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance and to monitor risk.
* Able to serve as a key contributor to the overall team.
* Ability to solve practical problems utilizing available resources and common sense approach.
* Ability to independently create responses where limited standardization exists
* Support and embrace company values.

Education and/or Experience: This position requires a High School diploma or GED with 1-3 years previous correspondence experience. Prefer candidates with a minimum of an Associate Degree.

Other Skills and Abilities:
* Customer service experience required, preferably in a financial industry.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
* Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and able to handle multiple priorities.
* Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
* Must have excellent verbal skills and be able to handle oneself in a professional manner under stressful circumstances.
