The Director of Business Development is responsible for all sales and marketing activities of the agency and implementation of the business development plan, which includes: prospecting, lead generation and qualification, presentation development and follow-up.
Responsibilities:
- Merchandise account activities for existing clients.
- Develop/update new sales literature.
- Understand the business and marketing challenges of key prospects while providing direct marketing to new business.prospects.
- Develops relationships with agency search consultants.
- Coordinate and create opportunities to pitch new accounts through new presentation/pitch approaches. Organizes, directs and makes physical arrangements for presentations.
- Manage/develop an electronic presentation piece to enhance the agency Web site with creative samples.
- Works with the Media department to develop contacts with media representatives in all key markets.
- Research, develop and build sales strategies with existing and potential prospects through the Account Service group.
- Develop and maintain a prime prospect list which includes qualified prospects from the high tech, telecommunications/technology, package goods, consumer and retail arenas. Also, manage/keep regular contact with companies on the prospect list while building relationships between agency and key prospects.
- Promotes high-impact, highly integrated advertising, Web development, Specialized Marketing in-channel selling systems and results-oriented public relations programs to our geographic area.
- Develops responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Target marketers with specific parameters.
Requirements
- 10+ years in top 10 agencies with at least 3 of those years in new business.
- Must be computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and Keynote is preferred.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
- Must be able to make presentations coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
