Contributes specialized knowledge and skill to work team. Resolves and makes decisions on routine service requests with limited risk. Performs research, analysis, design, creation and implementation of infrastructure and related systems to meet current and future user requirements. Works with Service Providers to modify and maintain existing infrastructure and related systems to address changes in business processes. Validates Service Providers achieve contracted service delivery outcomes. Collaborates on multiple projects by Service Provider for successful completion, maintaining scope within the time and budget constraints

Purpose: Provide engineering and Tier III support for Marriott's Global Property Network Standards (GPNS) program. Primary duties will focus on Global Property Network Standards testing, certification and implementation.



CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in telecom information technology Infrastructure Management
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in at least 1 of the technologies listed in Core Work Activities


Preferred:
  • Graduate degree
  • Technical certifications (ITIL, Cisco, MCSE, etc.)
  • Technical leadership experience in a sourced environment


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Provides support, oversight, governance and tactical direction related to the infrastructure services that are required to enable the delivery of IT services.
Provides input to the overall architecture, governance model and provide technical leadership, oversight, standardization and validation of the effectiveness of the infrastructure systems.
Participates in efforts on researching, designing, and implementing infrastructure and software components that are standards based, high performance, highly available and secure delivering the required business functionality.
Educates internal and external users of the technologies to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization on how best to operate and support the server services.

Understand the business and customer needs to introduce solutions that grow the bottom line and/or speed time to market.
Provide Documents with a focus on how server services will be leveraged in the solution architecture.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of infrastructure service products.
Support governance based on best practices and ensure proper alignment to projects and major initiatives
Support analysis of the current environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Support analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the infrastructure services architecture.
Support Solution and Domain Architecture by providing current environment status in terms of technology, software and infrastructure for projects in the delivery life cycle
Utilize capability modeling to align systems strategy and planning with business strategy and goals.
Promote the benefits of server services to the organization educate the team on server infrastructure concepts.
Consult with project teams to identify when it is necessary to modify infrastructure services to accommodate project needs.
Consult with architecture teams to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.
Support, implement and promote standard configuration and change management, processes and practices.


Delivering Technology
Performs quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects.
Supports existing systems and projects in a minimum of one environment.
Reviews completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider solutioning
Participates with the Service Provider in planning and coordinating implementation, reviewing quality control of systems functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.
Provides input to support desk change management efforts as it relates to support and training of new system
Coordinates with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams
Provides consultation for routine systems development
Provides early warning to the leadership regarding degraded or missed service levels

IT Governance
Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
Follows the defined project management standards and processes

Service Provider Management
Validates that Service Providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
Provides input to plans to effectively utilize resources
Monitors Service Provider outcomes
Provides estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers for accuracy
Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients
