We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality/Metrology Specialist in the Alabaster area. Ths is direct hire!!!

Maintain Quality Assurance Department KPI’s through continuous improvement utilizing Kaizen Spiral concepts. Coordinate team activities to ensure TS compliance and continued improvement of quality systems to promote excellent customer service through problem solving and quality resolution.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures all systems for a functional Quality Operating System are in place and being utilized.
• Ensures Customer Satisfaction through effective problem solving countermeasure activity.
• Ensures all Supplier base vendors are conforming to customer required specifications.
• Lead Management team in the daily activities to conform to TS16949 requirements.
• Work with plant operations staff to meet plant and customer quality metrics
• Supervise & coordinate hourly team audit associates including weekly timekeeping/payroll functions.
• Maintain calibration on gauges and test equipment (thermometers, force gauges, indicators and all other equipment used to perform quality checks
• Maintain condition of gauges and test equipment
• Perform measurements, scan of parts/molds per request
• Fabricate/order check templates when needed
• Provide technical expertise for support and coordination of quality system improvements
• Assure ISO TS 16949 registration is achieved and maintained
• Assure quality systems are improved, standardized, revised and documented
• Internal Auditing
• Maintaining TS requirements.
• Oversee change control policies and procedures
• Work with plant operations staff to meet plant and customer quality metrics
• Support of maintaining Metrology Lab Requirements.

SUPERVISORY SKILLS

• Coaches and develops hourly quality audit team for continued success
• Coordinates work activities/schedules/timekeeping of direct reports

Requirements

• 3-5 years manufacturing experience with emphasis on quality engineering. • FMEA knowledge • PPAP fundamentals • Able to work unsupervised. • Must have the ability to utilize all Microsoft Office software applications. • Must be willing to work flexible hour and travel as needed. • The skill to communicate efficiently, both orally and in writing, to internal and external clients. • Prior supervisory experience • High school diploma required, AS or BS in Quality discipline preferred. • 4 to 6 years of automotive manufacturing quality management experience in a fast paced work environment. • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, climb stairs, reach with arms and hands repetitively and/or consistently for 8, 10 or 12 hours. • Must be able to lift and move 10 - 30 lbs on a periodic basis. • Must be able to use close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus ability for examining product. • Must be able to travel by car or air. • Must be able to maintain regular attendance. • Ability to halt or suspend operations based upon safety or quality concerns • Enforces all company policies • Experience in SPC’s, PPAP’s, APQP, MSA, PPAP Fundamentals, and Fixture Print Design. • Quality trend analysis and corrective action development experience • Able to work independently with little or no supervision. • Be able to use gauges such as micrometers, height stands, check fixtures, etc. • Must have the ability to utilize all Microsoft Office software applications. • Must be willing to work flexible hours and travel as needed. • The skill to communicate efficiently, both orally and in writing, to internal and external clients.
