Intern - Perishable Specialist - Full-time / Part-time

Sprouts Farmers Market is rapidly growing and seeking a paid intern to support the Produce and Bulk Foods Departments at the corporate headquarters. This position could potentially extend into a longer full-time intern position or part-time intern position. This skilled intern will gain valuable experience around the perishable retail business, procurement strategies and logistics, as well as product category management. We are looking for an intern who thrives in a fast-paced, fun and casual environment to work with us. The right candidate will have retail experience, a strong desire to learn, enjoys business analytics, and possesses excellent technical computer skills. Job Function: • Utilize system tools to provide consistent reporting on every day, promotional, and holiday programs. • Assist Category Manager with analyzing progress against department’s goals and objectives. • Provide the stores with relevant historical sales data to make informed decisions about the department and how to maximize profitability with the direction from the Category Manager. • Support the collection and management of a comprehensive competitive price audit process for all relevant markets. • Work directly with local and regional DSD suppliers to facilitate collection of item, cost, and delivery information. • Assist in DSD vendor and new item set up and maintenance processes. • Work directly from the support office and be available to the stores both by phone and email during the hours assigned. • Prepare easy to read and understandable files for Category Manger and stores which would include the use of Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and other office software. • Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to work a minimum of 32 hours a week • Current college student (junior or master’s candidate with a major in Business, Supply Chain, or other industry relevant degrees preferred) • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential • Solid problem solving skills and decisiveness • Organization and planning skills • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel • Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Sprouts Farmers Market mission and values and adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct More About Sprouts Sprouts Farmers Market is a healthy grocery store offering fresh, natural and organic foods at great prices.
