Overview:

Directed by the Customer Manager or the Team Leader, the Retail Operations Specialist is responsible for representing ACOSTA, our clients, and our customers through managing proper implementation of plan-o-grams, new item placement, void corrections or special merchandising activity for a specific category and location. The incumbent is a self-starter, quick learner and has a strong attention to detail. The incumbent must possess excellent organizational skills, strong communications and the ability to build relationships with store personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing completion of custom scheduled reset activities based on customer supplied scorecards, random audits or manager assessment.
  • Real time reporting on individual assignments and reporting results to Natural Insight.
  • Indirectly manages, motivates and trains members of the team to achieve maximum performance.
  • Effectively uses customer supplied scorecards, audits or manager assessments for customer reporting systems.
  • Effectively communicates between the Area Manager for the team and direct manager ensuring all direction given is consistent.
  • Collaborate with Retail Sales Managers on all major retail initiatives (new product introductions, selling drives, contests, etc.).
  • Provide timely information of selling priorities to Retail Sales Managers, supervisor and shared resources (marketing, technology and administration).
  • Pro-actively share information and customer/principal information with other team members to build organization capacity.
  • Customer guideline compliance which includes shelf tagging, product merchandising, NI STS, store clean up and reset guidelines.
  • Provide feedback to the Team Leader and/or General Manager on how to build organizational capacity and improve our business.
  • Work with store personnel to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence and build customer good will on reset projects.
  • Manage such duties as checking date codes, schematic integrity, replacing decals/re-order tags or ads and placing point of purchase material.
  • Responsible for special reset projects as assigned.
  • Return all phone calls and/or email within a 24 hour period or as requested.
  • Complete special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Prior food broker, retail and reset responsibility experience preferred.
  • Occasionally lift and carry individual cases of product, shelving, or displays of up to 50 pounds, may be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity as they may work in and around coolers and freezers.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, decision making and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
  • Must have good vision and be able to operate a calculator, fax machine, telephone, paper cutter, copier, hammer, screwdriver, drill case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack.
  • Must have access to internet on a daily.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive in a car for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to work in extremely cold environmental conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores.)
  • Must have working knowledge of Excel.
