Position Information and Requirements:
Under direction and supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor and Assistant Custodial Services Supervisor and with the assistance and direction of the regular custodial staff, performs custodial duties including general housekeeping and project work in order to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly state and to do furniture moving as required.
Ability to learn to operate the following equipment: buffer, floor scrubber, vacuum cleaner, carpet extractor, window washer, wall washers, and cardboard baler. Learn to mix cleaning chemicals safely and correctly according to the label. Be familiar with MSDS while handling cleaning chemicals. Follow verbal and written directions as well as department policies and procedures; supervise intermittent custodial staff; cooperate with, and assist fellow Campus Dining employees.
Supervision: Ability to occasionally supervise and delegate work to part-time intermittent employees and student assistants in the absence of the regular custodian.
Knowledge: Minimum of one year of custodial work experience required.
Special Requirements: Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts. Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to our insurance company underwriters. Have the ability to lift and carry at least fifty (50) pounds. Must become ServSafe certified within first year of service and maintain certification as required (training provided by the employer).
This is a full-time benefited position, however if the facilities are closed during quarter breaks or summer, hours may not be available to work. Please discuss the exact schedule with the interview committee if selected for interview. Regular full-time attendance is required. Successful candidate must pass a background check.
