In this Medical Assistant role, you will learn from healthcare experts as you work side by side to provide care for seniors in a clinic setting.   You will build meaningful relationships with seniors, their family members, healthcare providers, and office staff  while providing high quality direct patient care.  You will enjoy profound job satisfaction as you impact the care and comfort of our aging population.  We offer  the benefits of working for a Fortune 17 company – career opportunities, great benefits, paid time off, and more!   The successful  candidate will have a degree from a  Medical Assistant program, demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, and have the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Interpret, understand and quality gap reports and prepare for medical information collection from contracted provider offices



  • Coordinate with provider administrator and identify obligations of business operations for in office procedures for auditing



  • Obtain permission to work in provider office and follow all office procedures and confidentiality guidelines


  • Coordinate all schedules with supervisor to ensure independent work schedules meet the requirements of the quality team

  • Collaborate with the physician administration throughout the data mining audits to provide education and understanding of the processes

  • Document, retain, report, and clearly provide audit related information, findings, and recommendations to the supervisor

  • Review medical records to assure data is supported by quality program CPT and supplemental data information

  • Manage multiple provider office audits simultaneously and collaborate with supervisor and office administrator to ensure clarity of audit and to allow feedback from the provider office

  • Track, report, and monitor submissions using quality program forms, processes, and returned request for information

  • Coordinate with supervisor to develop and present reports and results of audits for the physician's office review

  • Progress relationship with providers' office to allow onsite screening if required to help the physician meet quality program goals

  • Analyze errors in submission sent to quality department by physician office and notify supervisor for process improvement plan

Requirements

Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma

  • Active Medical Assistant Registration/Certification

  • Considerable experience reviewing medical records

  • Organizational and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with ability to work well individually or as part of a team

  • Proficiency with MS office applications

  • Flexibility and willingness to shift priorities as often as needed to minimize issues or meet market goals and objectives

  • Willing to travel as necessary to complete off-site data mining and screening exam duties

  • Minimum 2 years of auditing or medical record experience

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in physician front office

  • Compliance knowledge of HEDIS and CMS guidelines

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance 

  • Willing to travel locally (Tampa and surrounding counties)
