Job Description: Under the direction of the Shift Lead and/or Press Room Manager, operators will set up and operate all press equipment in manner that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards. The ideal candidate will posses strong mechanical skills and must be able to perform maintenance as necessary. All operators are expected to learn basic operating and maintenance procedures for multiple equipment platforms to facilitate flexible and efficient operations.

Job Description: Under the direction of the Shift Lead and/or Press Room Manager, operators will set up and operate all press equipment in manner that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards. The ideal candidate will posses strong mechanical skills and must be able to perform maintenance as necessary. All operators are expected to learn basic operating and maintenance procedures for multiple equipment platforms to facilitate flexible and efficient operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Follow standard procedures and processes as established by Press Room Manager / Shift Lead / Technical Lead:
- Ensure equipment is operational and processing work in an efficient manner
- Monitor the printing and finishing process periodically to maintain quality
- Perform adjustments accurately, efficiently, and according to procedure
- Keep work area / equipment clean and organized
- Record main activities for shift in log book
- Replenish and keep consumables and spare parts at adequate levels
- Perform preventive and corrective / troubleshooting maintenance on schedule and according to procedure
- Recognize when routine adjustments are necessary, catching errors at the earliest possible state to minimize waste (materials and time)
- Work independently and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Respond to urgent requests, while still maintaining accuracy and deadline requirements
- Be flexible to work alternate shifts in order to meet customer demand during peak period
- Identify new ideas to reduce delivery time and cost
Job Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer knowledge and good visual discrimination
- Good communication, listening, and teamwork skills
- Safety oriented
- Ability to meet physical demands of job including the ability to stand for extended periods of time; kneel, lift, carry, push and pull
- Ability to understand and apply detailed instructions, completing detail work precisely
- Demonstrate ability to meet or exceed performance and quality standards
Preferred:
- HP Indigo or digital printing experience – 1 yr +
- Preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment – 2 yr
- Analytical problem solving skills
- Experienced in print quality evaluation (registration, streaking, scuffing, banding, etc.)
