Material Handler - Full-time

JOB PURPOSE
Performs various warehouse duties to ensure customer orders, inventory, equipment and facility are processed and managed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Follows supervisor’s instructions and departmental procedures in preparing customer orders for shipment via truck, air or ship.
-Picks orders using a hand held Bar-code scanning device, conveyors, bin location system, and racking and shelving system.
-Reviews and compares production documents and material to be shipped to ensure the completeness of the order.
-Visually inspects product for cosmetic defects and to verify counts. Selects or constructs a suitable shipping container, and packs material into the container(s) according to prescribed packing procedures.
-Accurately and clearly labels containers to facilitate proper delivery.
-Tapes and/or bands individual containers, and stacks containers on pallets/skids as required. Bands and/or shrink wraps pallets.
-Prepares records and/or assembles all required packing, shipping, enclosure information used in connection with shipping operations.
-Routes internal distribution of documentation as appropriate.
-Enters shipping data (UPS, FEDEX, Parcel Post, etc.) using appropriate scales, computer programs, forms, and measurements.
-Uses material handling equipment to move material into, around and out-of the facility. Loads finished product onto shipper’s truck or into holding area.
-Prepares and verifies all associated documentation required to ship material including verifying quantities, weights, and product identification.
-Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in the appropriate company format/form.
-Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures.
