Bachelor's degree required and 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment (preferred Aerospace).

Looking for more a of proactive buyer and not reactive, excellent negotiation skills.

Perform functions to purchase a segment of commodities that may include raw materials, semi-fabricated parts, equipment, services, and or maintenance supplies, working form requisitions or material requirements plan (MRP) covering items and quantity required. Obtain and analyze competitive vendor quotations for pricing, delivery, dependability and resourcefulness. Select sources of supply to suit business requirements and place orders. Contact and negotiate with suppliers on pricing, adjustments, and material or delivery issues. Maintain detailed purchasing records, expediting of orders, and consult with Engineering or other supply chain staff to ensure compliance with schedules, quality and product requirements. Locate new sources of supply for assigned commodities or services, as necessary and maintain current awareness of changing market material conditions. May assign and check the work of one or two clerical employees.
