Position Summary
Cashier:
The primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and cash register operations.
The major responsibilities for this position include:
*Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards
*Greet customers as they enter the store and Thank customers by name when possible when they are leaving the store
*Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively
*Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
*Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
*Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers
*Responsible for balancing of register drawer
*Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked
*Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management
*Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
*Issuing receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
*Possess good product knowledge as well as knowing store layout and location of products
*Assist in pricing, bagging, and stocking of merchandise
*Call for cart pickup when necessary and ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.

Position Summary
Sales Associate:
The primary responsibilities of the Sales Associate position are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, merchandise product, and support the store management team.
The major responsibilities for this position include:
*Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards
*Ensure all call and pages are being answered promptly, courteously and effectively
*Possess good product knowledge as well as knowing store layout and location of products
*Be professional in appearance
*Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
*Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
*Assist in receiving, check in, price changes, special orders and stocking of merchandise and maintaining back stock levels
*Assist in the training and development of peers
*Actively participate in daily huddle meetings
*Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards for entire store including warehouse and outdoor areas
*Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized
*Responsive of safety issues
*Conscious of shoplifting activity
*Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, on acehardware.com, as well as, processing special orders
*Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
*Answer customers' questions and provide information on procedures and policies
*Operate forklift with proper training
*Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to management.
*Share ideas on any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to management

Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for these positions include the following:
*Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred. Possess vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn.
*Experience in a retail environment either in cashier, sales, or back office
*A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction
*Skills/Knowledge: Ability to process information and/or merchandise through register system
*Ability to communicate with associates and customers
*Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn
*Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, MS Word, and Excel a plus
*Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
*Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
*Ability to stand for an extended period of time. Walking climbing and lifting also required.
*Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
