JOB SUMMARY

Manages the front desk operation including guest registration, room assignment and check-out procedures. Monitors the daily performance of the front office staff. Supervises the group arrival, registration, check-out specifications and needs are executed. Represents property management in guest issue resolution and decisions related to front office.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent degree; 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel Front Office operation.


OR
  • College degree in Hospitality or Business with 6 months hotel Front Office experience or a college internship in a hotel Front Office; Experience in a 500+ room hotel with a Diamond Rating of 4 or 5 preferred


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Maintaining Guest Services and Front Desk Goals
  • Monitors the daily performance of the front office staff.
  • Manages cash banks.
  • Monitors cash handling procedures.
  • Monitors billing, cashiering and bill adjustment procedures.
  • Partners with operational departments to provide execution of special requests.
  • Performs scheduled system checks and daily reporting functions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local area, attractions and events.


Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
  • Represents property management in guest issue resolution and decisions related to front office.
  • Supervises the group arrival, registration, check-out specifications and needs are executed.
  • Partners with operational departments to provide execution of special requests.


Managing Projects and Policies
  • Have Knowledge of and assist in all emergency procedures as required.
  • Follow and enforce all Gaylord Hotel credit policies
  • Supervises daily Front Desk shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards and procedures.


Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
  • Interviews, selects and trains employees
  • Appraises employee's productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
  • Provides for the safety and security of the employees or the property
  • Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
  • Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
