The Manager, Technical Design supports Manheim’s efforts to provide improved and optimized business solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of national consignors and Major Dealers and enables these customers to have a transparent and seamless process when working with Manheim. Responsibilities include managing various aspects of the technical, product, and customer documentation and presentations created by the department, including proofing, designing layout, writing, and editing as needed. The individual will also take a primary role in managing the National Client Sales Support (NCSS) Main Street page, developing training programs required by the NCSS team, and implementing consistency in materials created by others throughout the department by developing and managing templates. In addition, he/she will assist the Industry Education and Optimization teams, as needed and take an active part in helping to demonstrate the ROI and impact of these teams on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently with only minor direction and be able to implement new and creative ideas. The Manager, Technical Design is a telecommute position but ideally based out of Atlanta, GA.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Acquire and maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of Manheim and Cox Automotive products, services, and solutions.

2. Acquire and maintain knowledge of the various roles within the NCSS Team and the key responsibilities, job functions, and main competencies for each of the roles.

3. Manage the NCSS team On-Boarding Program by tracking required updates to the content, making quarterly revisions to all content, posting revisions to Main Street, etc.

4. Manage Manheim and Cox Automotive NCSS product information sheets, including tracking required updates to the content, creating content for new products/services, updating existing content on a quarterly basis.

5. Assist with the tracking of impact and ROI for the Industry Education & Optimization teams, including development of templates to track and format data in easy-to-interpret reports (Monthly Dashboard/Year-in-Review) to present to leadership and other teams within the department and Manheim.

6. Assist with reviewing, editing, obtaining content and overall layout for responses to client RFPs and RFQs, as needed.

7. Design and develop any customer facing content for professional; consistent look and feel.

8. Assist with the creation of and formatting/clean-up of presentations for client meetings, as needed.

9. Assist with the creation of and formatting/clean-up of presentations for internal meetings/trainings as needed.

10. Maintain familiarity with The Wholesale Institute (TWI) program and the content included in that program and assist with updating existing or creating new content for TWI as needed.

11. Maintain the overall look, feel, and navigation of the NCSS Main Street (Intranet) site. Ensure that content posted to the site by NCSS team members follows general guidelines and is categorized appropriately. Periodically review and remove any updated or obsolete content.

12. Develop and maintain various templates (Email, PowerPoint, RFQ, Meeting Agenda, Meeting Recaps, etc.) for members of the NCSS team to utilize to ensure consistency and a unified look and feel throughout the team.

13. Create additional training documents/programs for the NCSS department as assigned by Director of Strategy, Industry Education, & Optimization.

14. Perform other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by Director of Strategy, Industry Education, & Optimization.

15. Attend occasional team meetings and in-office events as requested by Director of Strategy, Industry Education, & Optimization.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Must have BS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience, preferred degree in English, Communications, or equivalent with at least 5+ years of professional experience

· Previous instructional design and/or technical writing experience

· Knowledge of ADDIE model of instructional design or other industry-recognized models for instructional design

· Expert level in Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and able to quickly learn any other technology required to perform job functions

· Expert in written communication skills

· Demonstrated planning and organization skills

· Must thrive in and have experience in an extremely fast-paced environment

· Must be flexible and thrive in changing environments or situations and adapt effectively to them

· Ability to meet deadlines and create plan for assigned projects that align with the overall goals of the department

· Self-starter and self-motivator who is able to work independently with little direction

Desired Qualifications:

· Proficiency in Adobe Suite of desktop publishing and image editing software (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)

· Previous experience working with RFP and RFQ documents and a general knowledge of the RFP/RFQ process

· Manheim/Cox Automotive product and service knowledge

· Industry knowledge of automotive wholesale marketplace
