About this job
Trader Vic's Emeryville restaurant is looking for polished servers with fine dining experience to start immediately. *Must be able to work two morning shifts Tuesday - Friday.
POSITION: SERVER
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER & ASSISTANT MANAGER
MAIN DUTIES: Responsible for providing courteous and efficient service as well as ensuring the comfort of all guests.
Responsibilities
*Greet guests upon arrival at the table.
*Make recommendations and take the orders from the guests.
*Ensure all orders taken are posted through the point of sale system.
*Strive to provide above and beyond service for each table.
*Understand and follow the Sequence of Service.
*Responsible for side work assigned.
*Complete all necessary preparation of dishes where applicable.
*Make requests to the Chef or Sous Chef for any dishes not shown on the menu before accepting
such an order.
*Ensure that the server assistant's work is done according to correct procedures.
*Respond to the guests needs professionally at all times.
*Present the bill to the guests, and ensure the proper handling of all methods of payment.
*Ensure that the restaurant's opening and closing duties are done according to the checklist.
Skills Required
*Be able to give a full description of each dish. Precise knowledge of all menus (food and
beverage) is of the utmost importance to guide our customers through their choices.
*Possess complete knowledge of Trader Vic's cocktails, Classic cocktails, beer, wine & liquor
*Full knowledge of the POS system.
*Possess full knowledge of the Sequence of Service.
*Be fully aware of the restaurant's licensing regulations and abide by them. (For example: Alcohol/Liquor, Capacity, etc.)
*Be fully aware of restaurant's fire and safety regulations and abide by them.
Physical Requirements
*Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
*Must be able to spend 100% of the work day standing.
General Conditions of Employment
*Be reliable and punctual at all times.
*Participate in training activities as required.
*Undertake and follow through on any reasonable task or request made by Management.
*Be courteous and professional with all colleagues and guests.
*Ensure that you keep a high standard of personal hygiene, your uniform is kept clean, and that you are well groomed at all times.
*Inform Management of all complaints or incidents.
