Position Description:


We need your experience to join our growing Optum Corporate Finance team.


Positions in this function generate forecasts and analyze trends in sales, SG&A, provider performance, product line profitability, membership, medical costs, premium yields, and other areas of business. Researches economic progressions to assist with the organization's financial planning. Presents findings and recommendations to management. May include responsibility for budget planning and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly financial reporting of SG&A costs and WFTEs - including variance analysis.
  • Assist with periodic budget and forecast creation.
  • Support the preparation of various financial presentations. 
  • Collaborate to build financial models in support of decision-making.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Make contributions to the team and serve as a key resource for others.
  • Handle multiple work-streams simultaneously.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is required 
  • 1+ year of finance or accounting related experience
  • Current proficiency using advanced formulas and pivot tables within Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience working within a deadline driven environment
  • Experience applying critical thinking skills and being creative to work outside of structure and process
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Finance or Accounting Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Microsoft Access experience is a plus 
  • Forecasting, budgeting and trending experience is a plus
  • PeopleSoft Financial experience is preferred
  • Hyperion Essbase experience is a plus.
