Overview:

The Selling Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide the highest level of customer service by demonstrating advanced product knowledge and building quality customer relationships that result in increased sales and repeat business. In this position, the Selling Specialist will develop advanced product knowledge, merchandising and floor maintenance skills.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrates the Macy’s East selling priorities of Greet, Sell, Close and Satisfy.
  • Practices suggestive selling, offering related items and accessories, driving multiple-unit sales.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of store products and services and uses this knowledge to build sales and enhance the level of customer service provided.
  • Knows and properly executes all systems and POS procedures to ensure a quick transaction.
  • Understands and maintains department standards: neat and organized wrap stands, fitting rooms and stock areas.
  • Communicates effectively with Associates and Management and is flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Generates business through quality customer relations and follow through.
  • Maintains consistent and professional contact with clientele.
  • Achieves sales per hour minimum standard on a quarterly and seasonal basis.
  • Achieves the company standard for credit solicitation.

Skills Summary:

A candidate for a Selling Specialist position should possess previous selling experience. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to build relationships, solve problems, impact and influence others and should be goal oriented.
