As a Clinical Pharmacist you will perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. Primary Responsibilities:

• Verifies prescriptions


• Takes new prescriptions and evaluates patient histories


• Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from the computer system and verifies whether the order is reimbursable


• Consults with customers, patients and/or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions


• Conducts Quality Assurance and verifies the accuracy of all prescriptions


• Handles drug utilization review calls


• Reviews and approves/denies requests for prescription prior authorizations


• Analyzes and investigates concerns


• Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Hours: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM -11:00 PM, no weekends or holiday coverage!

Required Qualifications:

• Pharmacist license in good standing in Texas 


• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree


• 3+ years experience as a Pharmacist in retail, a hospital, or managed care setting


• Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word.  Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches


• Must be able to work the designated shift (if needed)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital or managed care setting
