The Workers Compensation Manager/Administrator is responsible for the management, oversight and administration of the Workers Compensation program. The stewardship of this position includes management of third party vendors for best-in-class administrative performance, documentation and investigation management and prudent risk-reducing financial settlements; oversight of required State workers compensation legal filings through a third-party administrator; statistical, financial and managerial analysis to analyze workers compensation experience and develop recommendations for policy changes and/or pre-loss or post-loss intervention programs to reduce the frequency and severity of workers compensation experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute State filings, audits, compliance and communications with monopolistic and non-monopolistic locations
  • Administer TPA Claims adjudication management oversight including, reporting, documenting, investigating, legal settlements and statistical reporting; 3) Risk reduction strategies such as early or reduced financial settlements for significant exposures
  • Develop prevention strategies, intervention models, supervisor tool-kits for "how-to" programs and regular reporting mechanisms are key to a strong workers compensation program
  • Develop training programs, brochures and communications for the various components of the Workers Compensation program.
  • Examine (independently or in coordination with Risk Management/Treasury) alternatives for outside funding programs for efficient financial sheltering of catastrophic losses
  • Develop, negotiate rates/contracts and maintain management of outside partner vendors such as TPA's, consultants, legal counsel and brokers
  • Develop and maintain a strong direct communications linkage to dealership and regional leadership
  • Interface with the broker and insurance carrier to minimize the ultimate financial risk to the Corporation
  • Coordinate and work with outside legal, adjusters and loss prevention consulting firms is also required
  • Interface with other benefit partner's are also required to develop and operate early return-to-work activities and linkage to FMLA reporting.
  • Coordinate with medical provider networks, durable medical equipment and prescription drugs is a vital focus to lower overall costs.

Qualifications:

  • Education-College Degree
  • Focus on demonstrated financial acuity is a must
  • Prior experience in a position in workers compensation management with major a US employer is a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for accumulating, analyzing, and reporting data with an output of understanding the dynamics and reasons for occupational management and losses
  • Personal characteristics of interfacing and communicating successfully with corporate leadership
  • Ability to develop and conduct training programs for management positions within locations and for third party administrator personnel
  • Personal computer skills to perform administrative functions such as in Word or Powerpoint and ability to utilize statistical and mathematical programs such as Excel to perform analytical functions.
