About this job

Position Description

Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts or machines that need new parts or need to be replaced and places orders as necessary. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in the machine tool industry. May require 0-3 years of experience in the machine tool industry. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

□ Maintain proper tools to complete jobs
□ Transmit (download/upload) service reports daily
□ Review call to verify you have the proper tools and parts
□ Call customer while in transit to make sure of the problem and to verify machine is available
□ Meet with customer to understand machine problem
□ Evaluate proper troubleshooting technique - KISS
□ Identify tool and possible parts needed for calls assigned and pick up from office before going to service call.
□ Identify problem with customer's machines
□ Repair problem. Order parts needed to repair if repairs cannot be done with out parts.
□ Upon completion, run performance test to verify all issues are resolved with customer present
□ Complete paper work and sign out with customer. Supply customer with copy of service report.
□ Work with office staff and managers to resolve parts requests and service problems.
□ Work with other service engineers to learn how to deal with new problems and equipment
□ Work with vendors to get information needed to resolve issues with machines and to get needed information to resolve machine problems you have not figured out.
□ Install new equipment and turn in 100% of machine install checklist including data sheets
□ Review 100% of machines serviced
□ Perform complete service call procedure
□ Continue to develop knowledge and skill set
