Manpower, Inc. of SE Michigan is currently seeking materials planner candidates for our client in New Boston, Michigan. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing total logistics support to the manufacturing operation and to ensure that the manufacturing operation has sufficient components /raw material necessary to meet the build schedule and achieve targets set forth in the supply chain scorecard. This is a direct-hire position offering a competitive salary. Job duties include, but are not limited to: * Managing component and resin procurements and/or communications to support Master Production Schedule. * Creating supplier forecast and overseeing all related part set up and planning parameters in ERP system (MFG/PRO). * Supporting supplier EDI processes. * Optimizing component inventory planning levels. * Supporting inbound freight cost using and optimization of delivery frequencies. * Ensuring on-time delivery of ordered items and escalation of delivery issues to support supplier delivery requirements. * Managing part change process to reduce and/or eliminate obsolescence exposure and protect SOP requirements. * Issuing SNCR's (Supplier Non-conforming Reports) to suppliers for delivery and/or logistic-related issues. * Supporting and developing component storage strategies to optimize material flow. * Participating in system accuracy and cycle count compliance processes to ensure inventory accuracy. Preferred qualifications: * High school diploma; associates or bachelor's degree preferred. * Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment with supplier management skills. * Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office. * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP systems (MFG/PRO experience is a plus). * Some hands on experience or knowledge of lean shop floor systems. * APICS certification and experience with OEM systems is a plus. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. * Strong interpersonal skills along with a high-level of strategic leadership abilities. * Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving skills using structured methods. * Ability to comply with all work and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. * Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
