JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Fabricate and assemble all types of tools, jigs, fixtures and instruments used in the machining and assemble of company products
• Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, and repair tools, jigs and fixtures
• Work from complicated drawings and specifications use a wide variety of precision instruments for measurements
• Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures
• Perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated setups
• Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and finish work
• Assume responsibility for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned work
• Working alongside engineering to develop proto-types and support new product developments
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required, Associate's Degree in a technical field preferred
• Minimum 10 yrs. as a machinist or minimum 5 yrs. experience as a toolmaker
• Journeyman certification preferred

SKILLS:

• Able to operate mills, lathes and general machine shop equipments (grinders, drills press, saws, etc)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge & use of shop mathematics including Trigonometry
• Proven negotiation, problem solving and decision making ability
• Know Geometric symbols
• Use a variety of measuring tools / instruments
