JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Fabricate and assemble all types of tools, jigs, fixtures and instruments used in the machining and assemble of company products
- Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, and repair tools, jigs and fixtures
- Work from complicated drawings and specifications use a wide variety of precision instruments for measurements
- Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures
- Perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated setups
- Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and finish work
- Assume responsibility for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned work
- Working alongside engineering to develop proto-types and support new product developments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required, Associate's Degree in a technical field preferred
- Minimum 10 yrs. as a machinist or minimum 5 yrs. experience as a toolmaker
- Journeyman certification preferred
- Able to operate mills, lathes and general machine shop equipments (grinders, drills press, saws, etc)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge & use of shop mathematics including Trigonometry
- Proven negotiation, problem solving and decision making ability
- Know Geometric symbols
- Use a variety of measuring tools / instruments
