POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Digital Researcher is a part-time position responsible for tactical research activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, lab management, recruiting, research schedule coordination, vendor management and lab hospitality. As such, it is a very important position for the research team as these activities keep the research process moving forward.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Support research activities for mobile product, responsive design, and web development projects as well as support traditional research methodologies research efforts
Build and maintain a database of research participants for research activities.
Build relationships with external recruiters and domestic research facilities for research outside of the research lab.
Actively seek to lower the cost of research by utilizing innovative recruitment techniques.
Develop relationships with hotels in the DC area and beyond for on-property research activities.
Ability to connect with interviewees from all demographics and backgrounds, and to help team members and clients develop empathy for their values and needs
Ability to be a communicative and responsive team player in an inter-disciplinary group
Energized by teamwork, brainstorming sessions and presenting to clients
Conduct heuristic evaluations of Marriott's online presence, both Web and Mobile.
CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
REQUIRED:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Successfully manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment.
Strong project management skills
Has knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
Desire to build competency with additional or new research methodologies
Ability to creatively solve problems due to cost, space or schedule constraints.
Demonstrated organization skills.
Desire to build a career in research.
Competitive personality able to put the team first
PREFERRED:
Some experience or understanding of research methodologies.
Background in and experimental methodology
Experience with adaptive/responsive design
Flexibility in approach to problem-solving and creative thinking
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Psychology, Instructional Design, Marketing or Business. Consideration will be given to applicants on track for graduation
Demonstrated experience with user-centered design principles and practices
Demonstrated experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
Ability to contribute meaningful content to processes and systems created with the practice
