As a Claims Specialist Professional for Blue Cross Blue Shield, you are the primary contact to review settled insurance claims in order to determine that payments and settlements have been made in accordance with company practices and procedures! The Claims division at Blue Cross Blue Shield is critical and you could join a wonderful team and become a valued team member. By using your strong ability to meet or exceed established quality and performance standards, aptitude for determining benefit eligibility on suspended claims and review claims history and other information to determine whether suspended claims should be paid, denied, or sent for medical review - we'd love to have you join the team! Because you possess the ability to... * Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from other divisions including subscribers, providers, physicians and other commercial insurance carriers regarding claims payments. * Process, adjust or update various claims payments and payment errors. * Identify system problems, including documentation of the issue, recommendation of potential solutions, referral to appropriate technical staff and follow-up to ensure resolution. * Assist management by identifying and analyzing opportunities for improvements in BCBSNC processes, policies and services. * May coordinate with other insurance carriers and Medicare to determine BCBSNC payment liability. * Review claims for possible "fraud" and send to Special Investigations Unit for additional investigation.
