The Scheduler is responsible for developing integrated detail level schedules for the execution of elements of projects including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical components, mechanical and electrical assemblies, installation details, drawing packages, etc. defined in the scope of work and/or as specified by the customer's representative.




2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist the Project Manager in developing the Project WBS structure to be incorporated into both the financial reporting system and the Project Schedule, which clearly delineates the scope and breakdown of the work packages by deliverable and by responsible party.

* Develop integrated detail level schedule for the design, engineering, procurement, production, manufacture, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning of project elements to meet the project milestones.

* Maintain integrated detail level schedule for the project elements to meet the project milestones.

* Use computer software programs, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel and others, to develop schedule, reports, and spreadsheets to convey project status to team and customer.

* Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and project management to develop integrated schedule to represent project status.

* Develop reports to convey areas of concern and opportunity in the schedule to meet project milestones and objectives.

* Recommend alternate ("what-if") execution strategies to the Project Manager and Project Team that assists them in creating work plans that meet the Project Milestones. Provide "early warning" for project tasks that have negative float, or are in jeopardy of missing milestones due to lack of applied resources or other factors that push start dates or increase durations of tasks.

* Provide forecasts to the Team of near-term and long-term target dates and upcoming Milestones, and provide detailed critical path information that will allow the Team to see the inter-relationships between the various Work Packages and completion of key deliverables both internal and external.
* Evaluate critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems before and during execution.
* Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives. Present risk based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range.
* Develop and implements plan versus actual progress curves. Report and analyze monthly deviations from plan.
* Evaluate allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress.
* Prepare and issues updated project schedules.

6. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree and/or vocational, business, technical school education preferred. Formal training classes in Primavera P6 Scheduling Software, or equivalent experience with that software is required.


Experience:

* Five years in a position gaining an understanding of project scheduling process and factors.

* Five years in an office environment or equivalent.

Knowledge:

* Understanding and fluency in scheduling software - Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
* Basic Mathematics
* Computer literacy.
* Understanding of developing spreadsheets and reports.
* Understanding of technical projects.
* Understanding of manufacturing, production, and installation methods and process.

Required Skills:

* Communication Skills: Schedulers will need to speak with coworkers and customers on a regular basis.
* Critical-Thinking Skills: Schedulers will need to devise plans of action and asses those plans regularly.
* Organizational Skills: Multiple orders, people and many moving pieces will keep schedulers on their toes.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Schedulers will need to be ready when problems arise, or be ready to anticipate problems before they happen.
