Sort Line Associate - Full-time / Part-time

Our Client is looking for a Sort Line Associate to join their team in Cedar Rapids, IA!
Sorts and grades materials as instructed and keeps a constant flow of material on the conveyor belt. Assists in keeping the plant clean and maintaining a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed:
Sorts and grades material on a moving conveyor belt. Some of the material may be pornographic in nature. Standing in place 8 hours or more if needed.
Is responsible for averaging 950 lbs. or more of material per sorting hour. Helps achieve News to Mixed Paper ratio of 70% or more per day.
Keeps work area clean.
Reports any equipment or safety problems to supervisor immediately.
Work safely with machinery, and must be aware of moving conveyor belts. May come in contact with dust, sharp items such as glass, metal and needles on a repeated basis.
May work on the floor or do general clean-up of the facility and property.
Regular attendance is essential to perform all duties related to this position. Mandatory overtime or holiday work as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience or training needed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend simple verbal and written instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Simple addition and subtraction.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A forklift license is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds from floor level and dump into a chute containing same material.

Ability to focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision, color vision and close vision.

Pay Rate: Starts at $8.50 per hour, will go up to $10 per hour after 90 day evaluation.
Hours: 7am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays may be required.
