DISTRIBUTION CENTER SUPERVISOR

SHIFT: Friday through Sunday 6:45am - 7:15pm

Responsibilities:

In this position you will be responsible for leading, training and developing a team of warehouse associates in efficient work methods that meet established production needs. The successful candidate will have proven experience in motivating associates, providing a positive working atmosphere, and resolving associate relations issues. Strong communication skills are needed for interaction with all operational areas in the Distribution Center. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating employee performance. Experience with WMS or RF scanning systems is helpful.

Manage day to day activity within department, including planning, flow, and resource allocation. Maintains effective productivity by;

• Ensuring appropriate staffing levels at shift start


• Reviewing every order prior to assignment


• Monitoring each associates progress, work methods and behaviors & pace.


• Providing feedback &/or redirection to each associate


• Monitoring AC checks


• Maintaining accessibility to managers & associates on the floor during active processing times, i.e., 15 minutes prior to shift start, & shift end, etc.

Time 50%

Builds effective relationships with business partners, i.e. counterparts, peers, Management, Union, HR, Loss Prevention and transportation.

Time 10%

Develops and motivates associates and ensure morale is at a high level while maintaining company culture.

Time 15%

Effectively communicates with associates, counterparts, peers, and management, to provide for a more efficient operation.

Time 10%

Ensures constant improvement by reviewing practices, methods and processes. Make recommendations on any opportunities to improve.

Time 5%

Ensures that area meets all requirements for Safety and Housekeeping.

Requirements:

• 4 year Business Degree preferred


• 4-5 years supervisory experience within a retail distribution, manufacturing, or store environment.


• Excellent management and organizational skills.


• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, production methods and inventory control.


• Flexible to assist other work shifts when business needs arise.
